Buying car parts online — from payment to delivery
The main question when buying online is not "how much" but "where is the money held". Below is how an order works on TezDetal: payment, delivery, returns and what to check at each step.
Updated:
Who receives the money
TezDetal is a marketplace: the item is sold by an independent shop, but payment goes to the platform account, not the seller's. The seller is paid after the item is delivered.
This works in the buyer's favour: if the order is cancelled or the item is never delivered, refunding does not depend on the seller agreeing — the money is with the platform.
For the same reason, being asked to transfer to a seller's personal card is a warning sign. Such a payment sits outside the platform's protection.
How to check a shop
- Are the location and opening hours shown — the shop page has a map.
- Rating and reviews — a new shop may have none, which is normal, but a pattern in negative reviews matters.
- Contact channel — how quickly they answer a question.
- Product description — how specific it is. The word "genuine" on its own means nothing; a part number means something.
How delivery is priced
If the shop has set its own delivery price, it is shown on the product page. If not, the price is calculated by distance at checkout — which is why we do not print an "approximate" figure in advance.
The delivery fee goes to the shop in full: it pays the courier.
When the item arrives
- Open the packaging while the courier is there.
- Compare the part number with your own.
- Check the kit: seals, bolts and extra pieces present.
- Photograph any external damage immediately.
- If you have any doubt about the fit, do not install it. After fitting, returning is no longer possible.
Return terms
An item in good condition can be returned within 14 days — unused, uninstalled, with its packaging intact. A faulty item can be returned regardless of that deadline.
Refunds are issued after the item has been checked, within 3–10 business days, by the same method used for payment. Full terms are on the returns page.
If you want to open a shop
On the seller side the terms are simple: opening a shop, listing products and selling are free. No subscription, no plans — the platform takes only an 8% commission on what is sold. Sell nothing, pay nothing.
Frequently asked questions
- Who holds my money?
- Payment goes to the platform account and stays there until the item is delivered. The seller receives their share after delivery.
- What if the part does not fit?
- An uninstalled item with its packaging intact can be returned within 14 days. That is why checking compatibility BEFORE installing matters.
- Can I pay cash?
- Yes, if the shop offers that option. With card payment the money stays with the platform, which gives extra protection.
- How long does delivery take?
- It depends on the shop location and your address. Ask the shop for a firm estimate — we do not publish average times in advance because they differ with every order.
